Running for the fourth year Iúr Cinn Fleadh 2017 will take place in Newry city from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th September. Set almost half way between Dublin and Belfast, Newry is ideally placed for a weekend away with top class accommodation and facilities right bang in the middle of some of the most beautiful parts of Ireland, the Ring of Gullion, Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough.
A Newry 2020 production, the four day event showcases the best in traditional and folk music both locally and much further afield.
Whether it’s trad cruises on a tall ship down Newry Canal (Opened 1742) with music and a glass of wine, a Trad Trail with the best music in the best bars, concerts from world renowned acts in Newry’s historic variety market, chilled out performances in local churches, storytelling with tales tall and small, inspiring walks around the city, comedy, film, music workshops, children’s arts and crafts, street theatre or a memorable trip on a traditional Currach, there really is something happening for everyone.
