Explore music and healing at Call The Musician

Music and healing are deeply connected. Singer-songwriter Tommy Sands joins forces with Bruce Victor and Marla Fibish of acoustic duo Noctambule to share their experiences and ideas regarding this connection.

PEACE PROCESS

Tommy has used music in pursuit of reconciliation – particularly during the Good Friday Agreement peace process and is the founder of a charitable organisation, Artsahealing, that explores this issue.

Bruce has been a psychiatrist for nearly 40 years and was a former Clinical Professor of Psychiatry. Marla is President of a non-profit organisation bringing music to patients in hospitals and care centres.

PROVOKE THOUGHT

They all worked together on a workshop at the 2019 Fleadh, which they entitled Call The Musician. The event was well received and provoked much thought – so they want to take it further. Indeed, Bruce has been writing a blog called by the very same name (www.callthemusicianlive).

Bruce, Marla and Tommy will share insights and songs as Call The Musician @Centredsoul on 26 August from 2-4pm. They will also invite the audience to share their own experiences of music and healing.

A team from The Right Key wellbeing centre from nearby Loughbrickland had planned to also take part in this workshop event. Sadly, they had to pull out due to unforeseen circumstances.
