The Railway Ramblers are 5 young amazing Irish traditional musicians who have cut their teeth with the elders at the Railway Bar weekly sessions. Now unleased, shackles free they begin their conquest to conquer the world at their inaugural performance at the Cathedral Gardens, Hill St , Newry on Saturday 24th August, 11 am-1 pm, as part of Iúr Cinn Fleadh.
The Railway Ramblers consist of:
Eoin Barry (15) (uilleann pipes, singer)
Finnbarr McQuade (14) (whistle, piano, clarinet)
Aron Madigan (14) (fiddle, banjo, accordion)
Rayan Morgan (11) (accordion and whistle
Ayman Morgan (10), (fiddle, banjo)
For the past few years, these talented musicians have been fixtures at the Railway Bar’s legendary traditional music sessions. Under the mentorship of the resident musicians, they’ve honed their craft and developed a sound that honours the tradition while infusing it with their youthful energy.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the guidance and support we’ve received from the musicians at the Railway,” says Finnbarr McQuade. “Now we’re excited to take what we’ve learned and create something of our own.”
The Railway Ramblers will kick off their inaugural performance with a special open-air session at the prestigious Cathedral Gardens in Newry on Sat 24th August, as part of the Iúr Cinn Fleadh. Usicians, singers and dancers (of all ages, but especially young ) are wecome to join in!
